The most southern country of Africa is home to spectacular landscapes from mountains and parks to breathtaking seascapes.
1. Kruger National Park
One of Africa’s largest game reserves, home to “The Big Five”: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalos. Along with diverse animals living on the land the landscape is made up of tropical forests, mountains and bush plains.
2. Table Mountain
A major landmark of South Africa. The unique flat top mountain overlooks Cape Town, the capital of South Africa. Visitors can hike up the mountain, or take a cable car to the top.
3. Cape Peninsula
Home to Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Beach. The beautiful waters and landscape make for a great visitor getaway, with Boulders Beach being home to a large colony of African Penguins.
4. Cape Town
Known for its unique Cape Dutch style buildings – an architectural style drawn from Dutch, French, German and Indonesian influences. The city hosts the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden – which is known for its many threatened and rare species of the area.
